FAQ

Why are you doing this?
Because every time there is some anniversary, we are always treated to the same old "all-time team" routine. Don't get me wrong - it's a nice little thing to do and I'm glad the Steelers always make sure to honor the players that made them into the greatest sports franchise in the world. It just gets kind of old after a while. Frankly, I think these two all-time teams will be more interesting.

How were the candidates for each team determined?
A panel of experts (i.e. my buddies and I) confined ourselves to a special war room (i.e. a bar on the South Side) and meticulously selected worthy candidates for both teams while consuming mind-sharpening sustenance (i.e. beer and wings) in order to provide the most comprehensive list possible.

How many players will be on each team?
Each team will consist of the same number of starters as a regular team - 11 on offense, 11 on defense, a kicker, and a punter (the defense will be a 4-3 by the way). Each team will also have one honorary captain.

Why do I have to register in order to vote?
So that the same person doesn't vote 1800 times.

Can I change my picks?
Yes, you can update your choices thru the end of the voting.

What if there is a good candidate which you omitted?
Post an argument for him on the message board. If enough people agree, I will add the player in as a new candidate before the voting ends.

Why are there hardly any candidates from the pre-1970 era?
To be honest, Steelers history really began in 1970. However, if there is someone from the pre-1970 era who you would like to see included, post an argument for them per the previous answer.

When will the winners be announced?
The winners will be announced during the week of the November 5 game against Baltimore in order to coincide with the Steelers' announcement of their all-time team. With any luck, maybe we can get the Steelers to honor these two all-time teams as well.

Are there any ground rules for the forum?
Just try to take it easy on the cursing, don't threaten anyone, don't link to porn sites, and generally show common courtesy (unless confronted by a Bengals or Seahawks fan - then all the rules are out the window).
